At Baldwin County Sewer Service, we believe in two things:
Take Care of the Environment.
Here’s a fact. Public sanitary sewer is better for overall water quality than septic systems. This includes the water you drink, swim and fish in. Think about it. The public water systems of Baldwin County pump drinking water out of the ground. Septic tanks separate the solids out of sewage and put untreated liquid sewage back into the ground for the earth to cleanse. In some places it works. In low lying areas untreated sewage goes right into the ground water and leaches into our streams and rivers.
Take Care of the Customer.
BCSS provides a much needed service, especially in rural and waterfront areas. We’re also proud of our excellent service record. If you’re our customer and have a sewer problem, call us. Anytime. We’re on the job 24/7. BCSS uses only the highest quality E/One pumps and components. And the presence of sewer service improves property values. That’s not only good for you, but it generates more revenue for things like schools and roads.
About Us
Baldwin County Sewer Service, LLC is a privately held full service sewer treatment company. The home office is in Summerdale, Alabama. The company is unique in that it provides turnkey installation and service, including main line construction, grinder pump installation and service, lift station and treatment facility operations and maintenance. BCSS has four internal divisions: Administration/Sales, Service, Construction and Operations.
The company was founded in 1998 by a group of local developers and investors to serve developments where sewer service was unavailable. The system has grown by expansion and acquisition of municipal systems to serve roughly 11,200 customers with current permitted capacity to service 20,000. BCSS operates over 2.5 million feet of sewer force mains and over 140 lift stations covering 450 square miles, from the tip of Fort Morgan to south of Bay Minette, making it the largest private sewer company by coverage area in the state.
BCSS has three treatment facilities; Fort Morgan, in Lillian and Plantation Hills, east of Malbis. BCSS operates by NPDES permit administered by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM), in accordance with and subject to the provisions of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, The Alabama Water Pollution Control Act, and the Alabama Environmental Management Act. Operation, maintenance and management of BCSS’ treatment facilities are outsourced to Wayne-Miller, Inc. (WMI), a leading OMM firm serving the Southeast. WMI and an independent lab, Envirochem administer split testing and generate Monthly Discharge Monitoring Reports in compliance with permits. Other strategic partners are JH Wright, distributor of Environment One (E/One) pumps and Schrieber Corporation, designers and builders of state-of-the-art treatment facilities.
