  • BCSS Sponsors The Haven Pet Shelter’s MMOR Parade

February 11, 2012. A record 500 participants strutted their mutts in the Haven's 9th annual Mystic Mutts of Revelry Pet Parade, which rolled down the streets of Downtown Fairhope this past Saturday. All proceeds will help provide medical care for the haven's homeless animals at that might have otherwise been destroyed due to illness, injury, and overcrowding.

This was the first year Baldwin County Sewer Service took part in the family friendly event, and we greatly enjoyed the festivities. The excitement, amount of participants and overflow of spectators exceeded our expectations, not to mention the delightfully elaborate dog costumes. This was the ideal opportunity to introduce our new Clean Water drop Mascot who the kids instantly adored. BCSS is a proud contributor to the Haven and supports all local animal rescue organizations that are fully dedicated to restore neglected animals and to preventing abuse and overpopulation.

"The Haven is always helping animals that have been abused and some come into the shelter emaciated and so fearful of humans.  I am amazed at the save rate this community has thanks in part to The Haven not turning their backs to these special animals that deserve a second chance," says Aimee Egbert, Chairperson of MMOR 2012. "Working with the community and Haven volunteers is a wonderful experience, especially when you get to see the fruits of your labor-an abused, neglected animal finding their "fur-ever" loving home".

During February and March 2012, for every septic tank BCSS pumps, we are donating $10 to the Haven.
