  • BCSS Participates in Alabama Gives Day

February 2, 2012. The Alabama Association of Nonprofits, in partnership with the Alabama Broadcasters Association and the Razoo Foundation, did something in Alabama that’s never been done. They took one day to harness the power of individual contributions statewide, connecting new and existing donors with hundreds of Alabama nonprofits. To partake in this momentous charitable occasion, Baldwin County Sewer Service granted one of the participating nonprofits, Family Promise of Baldwin County, $500 to help the organization continue succeeding in their mission to assist homeless families in Baldwin County.

Because of the generosity of 8,463 unique donors giving a total $742,835 to over 900 nonprofits, countless lives and communities will be positively impacted in Alabama. For more information about Alabama Gives Day, visit algives.razoo.com.

Imagine that that you are homeless, have no money, and have nowhere to turn. Now bring your children into the picture. As hard as it is to just make it on your own, watching your children struggle as well is unbearable. Maybe you lost your job in the recession or someone you depending on financially passed away or you made bad decisions in the past that cost you everything. Whatever the case may be, you need a lasting solution. Family Promise could lead you on the right path to turn your life around and give hope to your children. Family Promise of Baldwin County is an Interfaith Hospitality Network, IHN. This program is a network of fourteen “host” churches and eight “support” congregations that provide overnight lodging, meals, and hospitality to homeless families with children. They bring the faith community together to help the families regain their housing, their independence and their dignity.
